Holiday @ Ko Lanta (Day 2)

Being in love with you makes every morning worth getting up for... And more so when I awake to see you gazing lovingly at me. It feels good to be lazing around on the bed, since we should be sleeping in toasters should we decide to pop out of bed. But still, we got out of bed and prepare ourselves for the day, awaiting what this brand new day will present us with... Starting off with breakfast at the hotel.

No noodle soup available (only phad thai). I requested for it and it was granted.
How not to love Layana? :)

I am a "Woman in Love" (Think Barbara Streisand) with you...
IMG_0157

If you are interested to watch (and sing along):
"Woman in Love", a song by Barbara Streisand.

There was a great selection for the breakfast, with some food that would be prepared upon order. For example, the eggs benedict which Bbb ordered. He said it was like the one in the Cafe World game he plays on Facebook... Must eat (-__-)".

Bacon and Eggs Benedict.

Orchestrating our mornings to the tune of coffee!
Cafe Latte *slurps*

Champagne in the morning~
IMG_0164

And champagne by the sea~
IMG_0166

Just like how Napoleon Bonaparte mentioned, "In victory, you deserve Champagne. In defeat, you need it". And in my opinion, "When in love, you embrace Champagne".

Just like how I did.

After breakfast, we entertained ourselves, watching the DVDs we borrowed from the hotel's library (computer terminals, printers, lotsa novels and travel guides and plenty of DVDs!). Few hours later, we headed to the in-house spa as we have booked a Thai massage session for ourselves.

The fitness freak had to visit the gym to test out the equipments
IMG_0191

So I stood there waiting for him, taking a photo of me with the dumb bells.
I weighed myself too,and I have gained 1kg! Must be the morning breakfast! LOL!

This is the plot of lush green lawn that I see from my balcony
( which I mentioned in my Day 1 post).

And I saw this when walking to the main lobby (See picture below)... So sweet right??! I wonder who arranged it... :p The next morning, there was another design formed at the same spot (Refer to Day 3 entry for pic).

With the motorbike which we rented from the hotel (250baht/day for manual transmission), we started our adventure around the island. I love riding in Thailand as it is not necessary to wear helmets and I can feel the wind blowing against me and my hair flying while the bike moves... The feeling of freedom!

IMG_0201

Bought my Canon SX210 IS compact cam two days before I flew off to Ko Lanta. Yes, after months of shopping around for a camera. This camera is mad awesome that I only used this camera during my whole trip, instead of my DSLR cam which I have also brought along.

Me and my new camera (Thanks to Bbb for it~).

The many slopes that we biked through.
IMG_0212

We rode quite a distance towards the south of Ko Lanta Yai, intending to watch the sunset at the Mu Koh Lanta National Park. Before the trip, I did some research which advised driving SUV vehicles to the national park as the roads are unpaved and rather rocky and bumpy. I dismissed the idea of that as I thought how bad an unpaved road can be... But boy I was so wrong... Despite riding past a quiet little beach where it will be nice to watch the sunset at(where Same Same but Different resort is), I wanted to catch the last daylight moment at the National Park, so we rode on, till we saw this sign after awhile (see picture below)...

IMG_0217

Initially, I was thinking, "Yay! Just 3km more! We can do it!"
IMG_0218

So that you know, Ko Lanta is not like the neighbouring tourist-infested Phuket where most roads are already paved. It isn't as developed too, and very few manicure and massage shops at Saladan town(I can count the total number with my 5 fingers), with most shops closing as early as 7pm/8pm (take note that this is during low season).

The remaining 3km to the National Park was really scary. The slopes we encountered were uneven, steep and rocky... Even though Bbb went at only 20 -30 km/h! I thought that I was on a viking ship! It got to a point that I told him to turn back, and head to the beach we saw earlier. Afterall, I reckoned that even if we were able to reach there just in time to catch the sunset, the journey back will be very dangerous as I saw that there was no street lamps along this path at all... And with only the motorbike headlight as our guide, it would be a bad idea. Furthermore, I told him as much as I wished to see the sunset from the National Park, it will be ok to watch it at that beach, as long as I'm watching it with him. (Super sweet me, right? LOL!)

This was one of the section of the path, and this is totally 100% mild.

We arrived at the beach and I saw these...
Took a photo of the abandoned wooden boats.
