Meet The CLEO Most Eligible Bachelors 2016 X Hottest Denim Party By GUESS

Last two Saturdays ago, I had two events to attend in town. One was the monthly "The Gallery Experience" by Mandarin Gallery. For one weekend a month, the Mandarin Gallery transforms indoor and outdoor spaces to Instagram-worthy places for activities such as Surf Set, Barre and Silent Yoga. It was really gorgeous with all the colours, lighting and more!

Other than an adrenaline rush after doing all the fitness exercises, another way to get a rush of blood to one's head would have been attending the "Hottest Denim Party" by GUESS, where attendees get to meet and mingle with the finalists of the CLEO Most Eligible Bachelors 2016 contest!!! This was my Outfit Of The Day (OOTD) for the whole

of Saturday....

No brainer here, but obviously an event to showcase eligible bachelors would have more guests from the gentler gender. That was the only thing that I would like to complain about, as I had to fight with the other ladies for the bachelors' attention. There were many reasons why this event was AWESOME, and here are some...


(1) PHOTOBOOTH
Who wouldn't like to have their photos taken? What's more, via a GIF PHOTO BOOTH, and the shots can be sent to your email, or best... To upload immediately onto our own Instagram account. Other than that, a copy of the four poses were printed for us to keep. SWEET!~

(2) CANAPES N' DRINKS

(3) HUMOROUS AND GORGEOUS-LOOKING EMCEE

The event emcee was none other than 987FM DJ, Sonia Chew! The petite and pretty Sonia rah-rah the crowd with her jokes and energy!

(4) VALUABLE STYLING TIPS

CLEO's Fashion Director, Janice, gave us style tips for different body types and sizes, when it comes to selecting "THE" jeans that is the most suitable for one's body type. There were four models of different body build as examples of the different body types.

(5) MEN MEN MEN (!!!)

*Ahem* Needless to say.  Some of the contestants were SO young! Darn, I feel old. A handful were charismatic and outgoing, whereas some could still work on their stage presence (says me, a previous pageant contestant, and winner to boot). Anyway, one of them, Christopher Hwang,  is still a law student but already an entrepreneur, owning the swanky Suite26 club. Talk about being eligible, ladies~

(6) PURCHASE DISCOUNT

All menswear purchase came with an awesome discount! You bet that I wouldn't miss it for the world, and I walked out of the Guess boutique with paper bags

(7) GOODIE BAG

These were given to us in the goodie bag. I have my own Guess mug now! There's a $50 voucher, CLEO magazine and a very useful To-Do notepad. Oh, and thats the printout of the photos taken at the GIF Photo Booth. :)

(8) TICKET TO THE CLEO MOST ELIGIBLE BACHELORS 2016 FINALS
Not all guests would have it. But I have a pair!!! I'm still contemplating of going though.

The CLEO x Guess event was to start supposedly at 3pm, but it took quite awhile before it officially started (much to some excited ladies' annoyance probably, haha!). The eligible bachelors introduced themselves, while Sonia made jokes and teased them, which led the crowd laughing away. There was also a game where ten ladies got to pick clothes from a whole rack of selected Guess jackets and tops and dress the contestants up. Janice picked the best-dressed dude, and I have to say, it was really a great outfit! The event ended about 5pm.

So that was it... Two events in one day. And I were to have one more event the following day too. But that's for another post altogether. Thanks for reading! :)

Review: Lunch at the Pool Grill, Singapore Marriott Hotel

The last time that I was at the Singapore Marriott Hotel was for the Influr event a few months back (which you can read all about it by clicking HERE). It was a social media event held on a weekday evening, at the Pool Grill's terrace pavilion.

The Pool Grill is an alfresco restaurant located on the 5th level of the hotel. When I was there for the event, I liked the chilled-out and relaxing vibes that it brilliantly has. So much so that I told myself that I will visit Pool Grill in the daytime. Hence, I decided to have my lunch at the Pool Grill with my friend a couple of weeks ago! :)

We were served warm bread, along with 3 assorted dips.

I had to post this up, cos I like the bokeh effect shown in this pic. :p

We ordered the same main course, which was the Seared Duck Breast.

As well as the Garlic & Rosemary Roasted Kipfler Potatoes for our sides.

The duck meat was accompanied with the sweet corn puree,

quinoa (which I don't like), turnip and black berries jus.

I liked the plating of my seared duck breast, as well as its color. However, I wold have liked it more if not because of how rubbery it was led to me having a tough time chewing it. The crust could have been done better too... I liked a little of crust on my pan seared meat, which was not evident in mine. On the other hand, kudos for the sweet corn puree which I absolutely love!

The roasted potatoes were awesome! It was flavorful and have a good amount of spice/seasonings cooked with it. It is so nice that I will consider heading back to Pool Grill just to snack on these roasted potatoes! Haha!

As it was the Fourth of July, whereby US celebrates its Independence Day, I decided to dress up in the colors of the US flag on that day - Blue, Red and White. I wanted to join in the celebration with my lovely friends in US, whom I knew were planning a long weekend celebration, filled with picnics and BBQs at the parks. Moreover, most of them were going to dress up in these 3 colors too... Similar to how most of us actually don the colors of red and white on Singapore's National Day. :p

Like I mentioned, the influr event was held at the Terrace Pavilion.

I saw how romantic it was at the main dining area when I was there for the event.

It is really nice... Do come here for your dinner dates! :p

As you may have known already, Hedi Slimane, who became Creative Director for the YSL brand, changed the name from Yves Saint Laurent to Saint Laurent Paris last year. It is said the iconic YSL logo will be retained for accessories such as handbags, shoes and cosmetics. Whether the 'YSL' logo will be remained or not, I will recommend having just one item of theirs, such as their clutch! I am actually looking for a clutch like the one below, in calf skin, in hot pink color. Till to date, I have yet to source successfully for it. Though, I did almost buy it in yellow color when I was at the boutique in ION Orchard awhile back. I stopped myself... Afterall, it is YELLOW... A color that is so delicate that I know I will not be able to 'care' for it too much. :p

Other than that, I am sourcing for their Arty Rings, in Size 07. Multi colors, preferred... Or best, the Valentine version (obviously this has to be 2nd-hand already, since it was an exclusive design). The only item that I have from YSL thus far, is a velvety evening clutch, that has sequins handsewn onto it, with beads forming the YSL logo sewn on too. Thus, aiming to get the above 2 items from this brand. **Must source, must source** Heh~

I HAVE A NEW BAG!

Thanks to NiMe Shop,this Longchamp 'Derby Verni' Sac Shopping M, tote bag (worth more than SGD600) is mine! This is a coated canvas bag with a glossy/metallic shine, with cowhide leather trimmings. It also comes with a zip pouch, that you can detach it from one of the hook/strap, and use it as itself too. Though I did not take a photo of the interior, but this bag actually has its historic signature prints in the interior of the bag - Very chic and classic, I would say! :)

It can be used for work / outings...

And especially with its striking color --> TOTALLY MARVELOUS!

And it is also suitable when you wear casual outfits!

I am not really into Longchamp, though I own 5 Le Pliage tote bags (1 Extra Large, 1 Medium, 1 Small, and 2 cosmetic cases). I bought them as they are affordable, easy to fold, and honestly, they are the bags to rough it out with, especially for my usage during my trips. But for this bag that I was given, it is different.... I mean, a Longchamp bag that costs more than $600!?! I won't actually pay this amount for a Longchamp, so I am more than pleased to own something more special, less common (perhaps?), from the brand. :)

One tip for you if you are planning to go is to go arrive... Afterall, EARLY BIRD CATCHES THE WORM!!!
